Hatsugeiko

Join us to help welcome 2017 with our first practice of the year (and burn off some of those extra calories!).

Class will begin at 1pm with kakizome (calligraphy), a Japanese New Year's tradition of writing out a character to represent your intents for the new year. This part of class will be led by Yuka Cass.

At 2pm we'll start our Aikido practice with a brief meditation followed by a paired sword kata of O'Sensei's Ki Musubi Kumitachi. From there we will do open-handed practice until 4pm.

You are welcome to join us for any and all parts of the day. Kids are welcome to take part in the kakizome calligraphy class if accompanied by a parent.

The classes are all free, so come join us to ring in the new year Japanese style :)
