New to martial arts? Curious about Aikido?
You don’t need experience, strength, or flexibility to begin. Portsmouth Aikido welcomes adults of all ages and backgrounds, and we’re great at helping new students feel comfortable on the mat from day one.
Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese martial art that emphasizes balance, awareness, and cooperative training. People come to Aikido for many reasons—movement, self-defense, stress relief, mental focus, or simply the enjoyment of learning something new.
The Best Way to Start: Adult Beginners Course
The easiest way to begin Aikido is our Adult Beginners Course, designed specifically for people with little or no martial arts experience.
This short, structured course lets you try Aikido without a long commitment and gives you the confidence to continue training as a regular member if you choose.
